In 1938 the Japanese invaded South China, and many died. It was then that the Jow Ga community decided to join the resistance movement. The above is a membership medal with the words of Jow Ga and the Sun, which is a symbol of Kuo Ming Tung (KMT), the democratic party of China back then. Eventually in 1948 the KMT lost to the communist and that led to the departure of the Jow Ga brothers to Hong Kong due to the  cultural revolution which Mao Zedong had implemented to prevent any one party becoming too strong. This medal is from the Kau Kong (Fatt San) Yeng Yong Tong.
