The traditional Jow Ga lion is hok san style. The one above was made recently by Jow Tin Assn by Hong Si Lau Hong Kong. This one is a little interesting as it is a variant of Fuk-Hok style. The front being Hok san, but the back is Futt san. I was taught that a traditional Hok san lion had sloping backs, but in this case it is straight which makes it easier to manoeuvre.
So what is the true style of Jow Ga lion? Legend says Jow Biu and Jow Tin first learnt Hok san style. They then created their own variant of the style. Today we see in a combination of cat like movements vesus fierce movements (like Futt san). So what is the original?
