Kau Kong Yeng Yong Tong was the first Jow ga branch outside of Xinhui (Now considered Jiangmen city, Pengjiang District where HQ is located). Jow Biu Chousi had just left the Army after Jow Lung Chousi passed on. It was there, that many capable disciples was taught and they later spread to others places in China, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

During the Sino-Japanese war they had played their part as the resistance force. However things started to fall apart during the civil war. As Jowga was seen as a supporter of the Kou Ming Tang (Their logo in the star above), many of Jowga disciples were imprisoned.

It was thankful that Jow Biu and Jow Tin Sichou managed to leave/escape to Hong Kong. In any case, Kau Kong Yeng Yong Tong was closed down during the cultural revolution days until 1979. When Deng Xiaoping came to power, he lifted the policy and Jowga troupes started re-opening again.

Today there are 2 Yeng Yong Tong, the 九江上冻英勇堂 (Shang Dong/Up East) led by Zhou Bo Ying sifu, the son of famous Chau Kam Po. The other branch is the 九江少年团 (Youth Troupe) led by Chen Bingliu sifu, son of the famous Chan Gui Zai (The original coach of Hong Kong Fisherman Assn/which later became Jow Biu Assn).

We will be do more research on Kau Kong soon.
