Time waits for no one and another legendary character of Jowga departs. Chan Kau Sifu passed away on 25 May 2020 in Vietnam. He was a disciple of the late Lau Ho Leung Sifu of Vietnam Yun Yee Tong (YYT). We understand that when the late Sifu Lau passed away (during the Vietnamese civil war), Lau Kin Cheung sifu (the son of Lau Ho Leung) was only in his teens. He was one of the disciples of Lau Ho Leung that held the fort, assisting the young Lau Kin Cheong sifu back then.

Despite Chan Kau sifu being deaf and mute, he was also a very accomplished Jowga master. I had the chance to cross hands with him in 2015 and he still had it then! His monkey form was the one and only. We believe this is one of the original 5 Animal forms (五形). Unfortunately its lost now.

In his later years he got into a traffic accident which left him with a limp.However that never stopped him from contributing. He never missed any YYT events. YYT had also done their part to take care of him till his passing. It is a true demonstration of Yan Yee 仁义.

Goodbye Chan Kau sifu, you will be remembered.
